The President of the Republic, H.E. Alassane OUATTARA, chaired a Council of Ministers on Wednesday, September 30, 2020, in Yamoussoukro, at the Félix HOUPHOUËT-BOIGNY Foundation for Peace Research.
From the press briefing given by the Minister of Communication and Media, Mr. Sidi Tiémoko TOURE, Spokesperson of the Government, we can note that the Council of Ministers adopted the draft budget of the State for the year 2021, which amounts to 8621.1 billion CFA francs. This budget aims to contribute to the recovery of economic activities deeply impacted by the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic and to pursue the Government’s development objectives aimed at improving the living conditions of the population.
Furthermore, the Minister of Communication and Media stressed, the Government has decided, in application of the electoral legislation in force and on the proposal of the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC), to set up 22,381 polling stations in 10,815 polling places in Côte d’Ivoire and abroad, for the election of the President of the Republic on October 31, 2020.
