Since 1 March 2017, ONUCI-FM has become the "Radio de la Paix", a new radio station headed by the Félix Houphouët-Boigny Foundation for Peace Research. The information was given in a statement by the United Nations Operation in Côte d'Ivoire (UNOCI). The document noted that this initiative was part of the transfer of the residual activities of UNOCI in order to consolidate the achievements in the field of communication and that it had been recommended by the Secretary General of the United Nations in his special report on the UNOCI, on March 31, 2016, to the Security Council, which accepted it.
During a special broadcast on the new radio and broadcast on February 22, 2017, UNOCI chief Aichatou Mindaoudoua said: "I believe that this protocol, which was signed between the United Nations and the Foundation, is a protocol International law which clearly defines the obligations of each and the means of cooperation and the conditions that must be fulfilled in order to ensure that the three essential principles of impartiality, inclusiveness and independence are respected. Guarantee that the professionalism that existed at Onuci-Fm will exist on the radio of peace. "
For its part, the secretary general of the Felix Houphouët-Boigny Foundation for the Search for Peace, Pr. Jean-Noël Loucou declared during the same program: "The Foundation has the ambition to position the radio of peace As a vector of values that were dear to the founding father of Cote d'Ivoire President Félix Houphouët-Boigny, that is, unity, dialogue, peace and the maintenance of social cohesion. Have been taken to ensure the transfer and sustainability of this radio as soon as possible."
