A seminar on "Students committed to the promotion of the Culture of Peace, Democracy, Human Rights and Reconciliation" was held on April 13 and April 14, 2017 in Yamoussoukro, To the Fondation Félix Houphouët-Boigny for Peace Research. It brought together thirty-seven students, all members of the club of peace and nonviolence of the University Jean Lorougnon Guédé of Daloa. Papers were presented on the following themes:
- Education to the values of the culture of peace,
- Community mobilization,
- And social dialogue and advocacy.
Dr Dieneba Doumbia, Director of the Peace Research Department, explained that educating people about peace is about educating political, legal, social and ecological values. She stressed the importance of engagement in student life. Such a commitment creates a public space and social bond. Speaking on behalf of Jean Lorougnon Guédé University President, the focal point of the peace and non-violence club, Dr Jean Jacques Sery, expressed her sincere thanks to the Secretary-General of the FHB Foundation and his staff Have made every effort to ensure the success of this seminar. He said that the members of the peace club will be equipped to carry the message of peace after this formation. He also thanked the Daloa University Regional Center (CROU-D), who accompanied them throughout this study and training trip. The seminar also made recommendations to the Félix-Houphouët-Boigny Foundation for Peace Research, the University and the State.
