The message you are seeing is not a problem, it's a consequence of something done last time it was booted; otherwise your screen is 'black' from your description, i.e. Stuck on loading screen. Move your cursor down to the line that starts with “linux”, and use the right arrow key to find the section with the words “ro quiet splash”.

It didn't give any error but after deleting quiet splash from the grub menu it runs quiet well in the recovery mode. While Ubuntu is powered off > go to VMware Workstation > Virtual Machine Settings > Display > 3D graphics > uncheck “Accelerate 3D graphics” > OK > boot Ubuntu. and started the process.
